Yep while checking mine over after start up from winter lay-up.

Found the hose out of the oil filter that goes off the to the cooler was leaking. Checked the unions and applied some sealant.

Before reassembly I noticed that the inner pipe of the swaged fitting moved!

Checked the other pipes and all of the swaged joints have signs of oil around them!

Hi Matt, you may find that the oil hose from filter housing to oil cooler is no longer available off the self. Str8 6 tried to find one for me as its started to crack but i was told the only option is to take it out and get a new one made at pirtek.

if you do manage to find one pls drop me a line.

thanks

tbh I'd get them made up anyway. I don't trust anything that was built to TVR's specs. laugh

It's normally cheaper too.

I got a full set of hoses from these guys hosemaker.co.uk

All 3 hoses in 3 days for less than £50 seemed a good deal.

I will do eventually. Are you in a hurry for it?

I've only just got mine back together and was hoping to drive it for a while before taking it apart again. laugh

slightly off the subject but on the subject of hoses...

in the process of replacing the water hoses on my 98 4.2 with some nice blue ones from tim @ ACT (thanks tim)...anyway, the ones that came off! They looked OK on the car (ie - visually) but they werent...they crumbled once off the car. Might be worth checking the water hoses while you are on...especially if you have some long trips planned.

Hi Matt,

Measure the hoses and go down your local Pirtek depot on a Sat morning and take some cash wink. They had the correct type of hose on the shelf and all the fittings, I got them to make me hoses up to plumb in the oil cooler too.

You can't remember the ID of the hose can you? Need to confirm it for the Oil stat buy that's going on.

Just realised too that the Pirtek van comes in to work every once in a while to plumb up some units so I could grab them the next time they're in.

IIRC its 1/2 inch BSP. I believe the code is 100R6 for the hose??? I think it was written on the original TVR hose.

Pirtek van..... you might as well take petty cash laugh They're good lads.

Rich.
