I swapped my spiders over for a set of RL17's yesterday and noticed that, when only the offside was jacked up I could turn the rear wheel with a bit of force, but when I tried the same with just the nearside in the air it was absolutely solid.

I had assumed that I'd got a plate diff in anyway, which this seems to confirm, but why would it behave differently on one side from the other?

I'd have expected the same behaviour - can anyone explain it?

Are you sure it's not the brakes dragging?

You had the handbrake applied on one side?

There would have to be something catastrophically wrong with the diff for it to cause that effect, and it's almost certain to have been caused by the brakes somehow or other.

Hmmmn,

I'll have to check again.

I'mm 99% sure that the handbrake was off and there's not normally any sign of it dragging but I'll try again...

Cheers for the thoughts!
