Hi all,

As my cerb is no longer 'original' due to the accident I thought I might as well make some changes to it. One of which is a headlamp conversion. I have done a search on the subject and suprisingly little comes up. The info I need is where to source the light units for the pods. Anyone know? Or alternatively the dimensions the lights need to be.

Cheers,

Mark

Mark,

the units are from Hella and any TVR parts supplier can deliver them, like Cever Trevor, Racetech Direct or TVR Power.

Regards,
Björn.

Edit: They are the same as on a Tuscan.

And whoever you use to install them make sure they bond them in the correct way round so the beam deflector is correct for an MOT rolleyes

I have seen numerous examples where the lights would have or had failed the MOT...& some of these where original fitment by the factory yikes

lights are £44 each from tvr power. if you are going for the 2 light style you will need the T350 (sidelight and main beam in one) and then the dipped unit.

If you are going for the 3 light style with the 3rd light being the side light then you need the tuscan side light/dipped and main beam units, tvr power list them all anyway.

as for the mounting rings, i had mine from leven, they didn't list them on the net so i phoned them, i can't remember the price on them but i had purchased the whole kit in bits n bobs for a lot cheaper than some sellers were selling the complete kit for. if you need pics or hep just ask i have all my gear in a box ready for the bodyshop.

interested in which way to mount them now though? how can i tell?

Cheers guys.

With the low beam units I know they are projectors but are they the right beam pattern for HID's?

Anyone use HID's in theirs?

i've hids in mine - all fine, although TC "dip" them down and they're pointed at the floor. wheel off to recorect as there was no point having them.

Mark, you saw my Cerb at Chatsworth - it's got the "pod" projector headlights and I've upgraded them to HID. Cost £150 and worth every penny, the difference between the good pool of light from these and the p!ss poor "hold a bic lighter in front of the car" standard projector lights is literally night and day. On original lights, I was struggling to drive at night on country roads with traffic coming the other way, they were so poor.

BTW, only use HID for the dipped, as they take a couple of seconds to "warm up" to full light - I've had mine modded to keep the dipped on when I select full beam, and left the full beam as standard bulbs.

Now means I can drive the Cerb in the manner that it was designed for at night, rather than driving Miss Daisy with the standard lights.... wink

Well thats good! I have factory HID's on my daily snotter and they are so good I really would not want another car that did not have them!
