Hi

After all my recent troubles with the Cerbie I was not expecting this (Should no better)

The Car is garaged, so I don't set alarm that much!

Today I took it to work and set alarm, it whent srait off! Turned it off! then every minute or so it chirped at me! After 20 mins it stopped that!

Tried to reset alarm 3 hrs later and off it went again! Turned it off and it chirped at me again for another 20 mins!

With all the recent work I have had the batt on and off a few times!

Any ideas how to fix it or if not anybody know what are Carl Bakers (The alarm guru) contact detail's

Thanks
Andy

Its definately the alarm on its way out. Don`t leave it too long to get it fixed. As said already Carl Baker is the man to use. It would take him about
2 hours to change and you will get 2 new fobs too!

Don't really want to post alarm details on here. Ring Carl, he'll tell you how to disconnect it, then you only have to wait hours for the internal battery to run down. Luckily mine was only two hours and was in the garage, but it still annoyed one neighbour who told me he'd called the police for ruining his sunday afternoon!

It's quite a distance to Carl from you, I suppose about 125 miles plus, but the question is, do you want the best person working on your car. I know Carl sends out the systems, so he may know of someone local to you.

Just for my info, what does it cost to fix an alarm that goes pop (i.e. replace via carl)?

Chirping is just the backup battery in the siren on its way out, only a replacement siren needed, not the whole alarm!

OK so you think the batt in the siren now naff, but what about the alarm just going off when I try to lock the car/set alarm?

Also can anybody e-mail with the location of the alarm/siren.

Errrrr - I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned this before, but there's a bloke called Carl Baker who would be able to sort it out for you.

Yes Carl Baker name has been mentioned in the post more than once, but I am a person who like's to DIY, especally as I a have worked on more complicated vehicles than a Cerbie!

But before I start work I like to investgate and obtain the knowledge of what I am going to do before I do it!

Andy - We've all been there, done that. That's why everyone has recommended Carl Baker. He is the most helpful guy in the world, and you'll learn more from him in a 5 minute phone call than than you would struggling all day trying to do it yourself.

Thats why everyone has said ring Carl!! smile

It's a common enough cause of the alarm randomly going off, if the alarm was chirping before and is now randomly going off, that would be my first suspect. I agree that you should talk to Carl, if you want to fit the bits yourself I'm sure he'll supply.

Call Carl - he'll tell you how to stop the thing from going off (he talked me through it and I'm a numpty when it comes to electrics).

You can either get him to supply or fit the new one, he'll happily help out - I remember the first time I spoke to him, he called me back from his honeymoon - that's dedication for you.
