How would a spot on 4.2 running 360bhp or a stock 4.5 fair off against this supra bering in mind the supra's rolling road print out on the last page is 580ish!!
I know there is a big difference in weight but just interested in how well a cerb would do

I've had both a Cerbera (1 year) and a supra which was around 550bhp (for 7 years).
Completly different cars. the supra was ridiculous when the turbo's kicking in, however the pure grunt and tourque of the cerbera is also very different and a match in it's own.
Can i say what which was quicker? I think it would all depend on who was driving, what gearing your in, is it a straight line drag, or we taking bends? etc..
I felt more confident pushing the supra round bends and i thought it was quicker, but the cerbera was much more fun, and much more of a drivers car with not much room for getting it wrong. All beit after owning both, i wouldn't want to decide between either in a race.
After the cerbera i purchased an evo fq 360.. cost me a small fortune and sold it about 2 months later. Hated it. Everything was done for you and i just found it boring to drive (my personal opinion), however if i needed something to drive the kids round in, then that would be a good choice - The handling was out of this world, but then again so was the servicing/running costs.
I've now bought an Ultima, which again is a completly different to anything i've driven before, but the handling is superb and it's another drivers car, much like the cerbera.

There's a chap in a Supra with a claimed 470-480bhp I see up at Knockhill from time to time, and down the main straight there's very little in it against my 4.5, with him probably having a very slight edge. The Cerb does pull things back fractionally at the top of each gear, but it's not enough to overcome the relentless surge of that turbo engine.
So, I'd be inclined to say that a 550bhp one murber the TVR, but if it's been tuned for top-end only, then there *might* be for low-boost lulling in the forward urge that could be exploited.

The bottom line is that fast or slow it's still a supra not a Cerbera. I have an MG Maestro that can beat my Cerb to 130 by a wide margin but it's still a Maestro.
Well said fatjon - Does it really bother me if theres a car thats faster than mine, nah..... Unless it's another Cerb of course
i'm not bothered either as a cerb is a cerb and a beautiful car which i wouldnt swap for a supra, but I have not seen a cerb on a drag strip yet nor challenged many sports cars in my cerb so i dont know what sort of cars the cerb can or can't compete with etc.(apart from the top gear shoot out)
I was just curious over this supra as the bhp figure was quite high and wanted to know if the cerbera could keep its own with heavier more hp cars.

not far off, We bought it a while ago, rebuilt it and did some work on traction/brakes, plus we added a toilet roll holder.. It's quite an experience to drive but not on a wet day or on any road with bends unless you like being dead.

Looks ace

Just something I must make clear here. It was built by Andy Nicholls of AN Racing, I claim very little credit for it other than a bit of tweaking and mechanical rebuild. The man is a genius and the car is a legend in MG circles having won the TOTB all comers 1/4 mile at Santa Pod several years running with several 12 deads and I believe an 11.4 at some point. My bro and I are very proud to own this bit of BL history despite it being an ugly little wart! The one thing you will find in common with our cars (other than my day to day plodder, which I got for free) is we only do British. Hence my disdain for a quick Supra, rocket powered Imprezzas or scoobys with grenades up the tail pipe, they just lack that... union jack thing. You can buy speed but not pride,
According to this website only 505 Turbos were made so they're rarer than our Cerbs. Not quite as pretty though IMO
