SO, what's a Trackcar Whirlwind 2?

Sounds like a food processor sponsored by Jenson Buttonhehe

Its a short induction kit with a chip to sort the fueling, with this and my linked de-cats i should be nearer the 400 bhp goal.

Yes it was - it was just my initial reaction smile actually I don't know how much the new kits go for, although I would think that with Joo's experience a Generic mapped chip wouldn't be a million miles out. Would it?

From my experience of getting all my cerbs mapped at Joos is that a good individual map could get you 10hp or more. The best part being that everything is optimised to your specific engine.

I thought the specific rolling road map was the only way to go up until now?

I imagine a generic chip will be mapped on the conservative side, fuelling and ignition wise, to cater for variations between cars and exhausts so as not to lean out if the car flows more air than the norm, especially as the cerb doesn't use an airflow meter. It'll be better than the oem map + whirlwind but a RR remap is the way to go.

Fitted!

Had to mod the scuttle panel a little to allow it to fit without the panel wearing away the top of the pipes. The old pipes suffered from this too.

Chip installed with generic map and cooling mods.

Happy days. smile

Here's the blurb that Joolz had on the kit Ridds bought..... So he hasnt sold a massive BHP seeking map on the chip. Should be good none-the-less.

TVR Cerbera 4.5 Short Induction Kit.

Designed to replace the original long TVR induction pipes, this short kit improves horsepower above 3500rpm.
Fitting takes only 15 minutes and the new short pipes transform the look of the engine bay compared to tarnished original spec purple TVR pipework. Short Kit available in Black only.

With remapping this Short Induction Kit is capable of up to 420hp on standard 4.5 cars in good condition with efficient exhaust systems, or 430-440hp on RedRose cars. A Tuscan race spec 4.7 engine has peaked at 477hp with this kit fitted.

Kit is supplied with an ECU chip which corrects the fuelling requirements of the engine but isn't designed to provide massive bhp increases, although increases of 12-15bhp are typical from this kit and chip combination as delivered. For greater bhp increases and improved fuel economy bespoke ECU mapping is available, please email for details.

Looking forward to getting mine fitted this week now, Ridds is your backing plate metal? only ask because mine have seen better days as someone tightened the clamps down to much at some point and have damaged them
