Vibration selecting 5th gear...

Test drove a car today that has an issue selecting 5th on the motorway. There's a vibration when moving the gearstick into 5th, however when selected it drives fine. Any ideas?

5th is weak on these boxes. It is often used before selecting reverse which helps hasten it's demise. I assume it will need a rebuild before long.

Someone mentioned something about a floating 5th gear? How much is a rebuild?
