Hi guys,

Do you know where I can buy a new remote key? Mine is almost dead.

Do I need to change the whole central locking system? If so, where can I buy it?

Many thanks

yes, it still works, but I need to get very close to the car to make it work (when it works).

You should have a red card (credit card sized) in your little owners manual, in the front leather pocket, there is a code on that for the alarm fobs, you can order new ones with that code at Meta

...... you're fooked unless you have the code elsewhere.

dont completely run the battery down on the old fob as you need to use it to code in the new fob, its a right PITA when your fob isnt working correct.

Then it's £130 and a trip to Carl Baker for a recode and new fobs at a guess biggrin

You don't need to change out the whole system, like the man says replace the fobs and you're sorted (You'll also find the replacements work at distance).

As said above, if you havn't got the red card with the code on, you cannot 'code' a new remote. The only way forward is to take off the alarm control box and send it away to someone such as Carl Baker, so he can recode the box and then sync in the new key fobs to match. I did it and it has worked perfectly. The new meta remotes are much better quality than the old TVR ones as well! If you speak to Carl he'll tell you what to take off, and from where. When in relearn mode do you have to do anything with the push in key things?

Gazzab, no this is the immobilliser side of the system. I bought a remote that was coded to my system via the red card no. but was still unable to sync it in. Even when i followed the instructions! I asked a local indie to do it, but they were unable also. They said the meta system was temperemental and alot of systems just wouldn't have it. I ended up having Carl Baker reprogram the system entirely. See above post. He also did the remote i bought earlier, so at least it wasn,t wasted. Hope you have better luck.
