Not 100% sure this is a good idea as im probably tempting fate! But just clicked over 56000 miles on my original engine and im pleased to say she's still running really sweet!
What are people seeing from one engine?

Currently at >42,000 on original engine, 2nd owner, but have all the service documents from the original order with no mention of any engine problems.

Hmmmmm.....a thread where we have our fingers crossed and open a bottle of beer when she passed another 5K!?

I still wonder why these engines do not do 150-200K without showing a drop of sweat.

My Cerb had his secong engine in when it went bang at 28K! Can't wait for my LS2 transplant from Steve Heath and Dave Wallis...

An interesting post.

I'd suggest it possibly has alot to do with the fact that the engine isnt a massive-budget developed unit by a major car manufacturer, is actually incredibly reliable for its power/size and have been assembled by hand in a shed somewhere up north.

I am absolutely astonished just how good these engines are, ours is 80k+ now, untouched since the factory and generally used quite hard. I think you're being a little unfair. Ours may well do 100k at its current rate, maybe more, who knows - but I am damn proud of how well its taken the miles so far.

We're not alone on this one either... where Simonsparrow when you need him? hehe
