I have discovered that the front splitter / bit of metal under the front of the car is missing!

I have only had the car for a week and not had much chance to do any motorway driving and am of to Le Mans next week, does it make much difference when cruising at high speed?

Should i try and get hold of one before i leave?

If so i would be really greatful if someone could give me some approx measurements.

Thanks

  • Yes it makes a lot of difference at high speed
  • It's very low
  • I ripped mine clean off the day I had it fitted (just the other week) hehe
If you're off to Le Mans, you'll be heavily laden, which will ultimately make you lower, and make it even more likely to get ripped off.

There's a reason you don't see many laugh

Useful for track days i'd have thought.

Depends how fast you're going to go. Without it, I broke the offside bonnet rod and bent the nearside one after a sortie to ~150mph on the Autobahn.

Isn't there a rubber profile that would do the job?

Still haven't decided what to fit. I know Simon has the stainless steel ones. Because of the risk of hitting something, my thoughts are that rubber might be better.

I made my own out of reinforced rubber hose and a length of carpet door bar paperbag works a treat and deforms out of the way when it comes into contact with street furniture.

I've driven with and without and I don't think you'll experience any problems if you can keep her under 140 !
(with the Gendarmes either)
