swapped both of the throttle pot sensors on the fornt of the fuel rails last night. do I have to set them up, balance them etc or is it as easy as it appeared - ie 2 screws each and a 5 minute job?

Not quite that simple. I would have thought this would have been the routine.

Plug in Dig laptop
Read current values of pots at throttles on idle stops
Remove sensors
Fit new sensors
Set pots to previous values
Reset adaptives
Test drive
Check to see how far out adaptives are
Adjust accordingly.

Then you'll need to.

Plug in laptop
See how close to about 17°-18° the values read when idling once the engine is properly warm affects rod length between throttles.
If miles out then adjust pots to suit.
Reset adaptives
Test drive
Read adaptives
Balance pots accordingly to get adaptive values back to zero.

If your adaptive is positive you have too much air and not enough fuel (adaptive is increasing pulse width to compensate) and so you need to increase the throttle value from it's current position for that bank.

Repeat until happy.

Jes - think you need to read this thread

I ended up setting up from blank canvas with throttle link removed and that approach worked best for me - as you've swapped the pots and there is adjustment there on their mounts prolly best to start from scratch but suck it and see!
