How exactly do you do this?
I am trying to fit the Joo Cooling chip but failing at the first hurdle.

Have located the ECU and the first instruction in Joo's kit says unplug the cables.
But there seems to be no easy way to do this? Does the cabling pull straight out, do you have to undo screws, does it pull out at an angle?

Tried using a bit of force to see to waggle the cables out and snapped of a bit of plastic (nothing important thankfully). banghead

is a handle on the socket which has to be lifted up and automatically disconnects the ecu from the socket when you do this. Absolutely no pulling required or desired.

That socket is a sucker for water ingress and if everything in your car is working well I wouldn't mess with it. smile

Better to lay the ECU down in the footwell without disconnecting it, remove the four allen head screws on each corner and take the top off the ECU there. Make sure you have disconnected your battery before you do it.

Make sure you are relatively antistatic, and make sure you are very careful with a small screwdriver slowly slowly leaving out each side of the chip gently so as not to bend the feet.

Remember screwdriver between the chip and the black chip socket, and twist, not chip and circuit board. If your screwdriver can't do this find another screwdriver.

Good Luck

If you can't see how to unplug the ECU I wonder if you are looking at the right thing. There should be a massive quick release connector joining the ECU to the loom. Could you take a picture of what you are seeing?

Sorted - I'm being an idiot. My execuse is that its dark in the garage whistle

ECU successfully disconnected, dismanteled and the chipped swapped over without problem.
Put everything back together again and the car started fine without MIL coming on so I guess it should be OK.

Thanks for advice guys.

On the "MIL" topic.... Is there any way of testing that the light works?

Unplug at throttle pot while the engine is running.

Alternatively mine always comes on with the warning continuous tone when the car ignition is on but the engine isn't turning over.

All Cerbs should be like this from my ECU program. The Mil should only go out when the engine is running.
