i took the car out for a drive this morning , everthing working fine - all wiper functions / speeds & washer function. stopped , got back in a couple of hours later started her up & wiper arms stopped half way across the screen & now none of the wiper functions work. neither washer jet or wiper speeds.

i have checked the 20Amp fuse & its ok - 100Amp fuse ok ( although i suspected it would be as everything else working ok ) i am not sure what else to check .

any ideas please ?

this happens to me if theres no screen wash in the bottle and the wippers move on dry glass. try wetting your screen , then press the windscreen button and move them by hand. it usually solves it

thanks for the reply.

the water bottle is full & it was raining really hard when they decided to stop in the middle of the screen after starting the car.they had been working fine on all speed settings a couple of hours before. i was sure it was the fuse so wasnt that bothered but now i have checked it & its ok i am a bit stumped .

its the same syptoms as if the fuse had gone - any idea of where else i could look / check please .

many thanks.

Park switch, cheap part. No idea how to fit as got Andy at APM to do mine during a recent service - don't think it's hard though.

If I was you I'd pull the motor out and check the function of the motor and park switch. My brushes failed, stalled the motor and destroyed the steering wheel control box. The wiper motor assembly is poorly protected from the rain, fills with water, corrodes and fails. The Cerbera motor is a one off-design. As far as I know they are not made anymore (spoke to the original manufacturer) but the major TVR parts suppliers do refurbs. A wise investment as the wiper control circuit is routed through some expensive control boxes.

Ah sorry, maybe didn't fully appreciate. Park switch can stop it mid sweep but a further press on the button will usually restart it (this is what mine was doing recently and it was indeed a faulty park switch). However if they are stuck mid sweep and won't get going again at all despite button presses etc, then it does sound more like a fried motor or problem in that area.

just a thought , would the wiper motor being O/C also stop the windscreen washer / jets from working ? as it all packed up together. thanks.

could also be your wiper control box located in the boot had similar problem and that was the cause if poss you could do with swapping with a known good one to prove/eliminate it

Also worth checking the steering wheel ribbon cable and the steering wheel control box which is under the steering column.
