My cerb has got to go but having looked at the classified the prices are all over the shop! I looked at completed listings on ebay and none seem to reach reserve. That said - there ddon't seem to be any selling here either.

I'm wondering what a realistic price would be to actually sell my cerb in the current market. I know it's a "how long is a piece of string" question but I'm interested in all views.

It's a 96 4.2 in Starmist Chianti - cutting to the most important stuff, it's had a clutch, gaz golds all round and Silverstone SP12 18" alloys within the last 2 years.

The aux shaft failed and the owner had the bottom end swapped with a latter one due to all the early crank failure rumours - overkill maybe but it now has a fully rebuilt bottom end by APM March 08 @ 40K - it's now done 45K.

Leven know the car well and Dan Taylor of Taylor TVR ex Leven tech said it's one of the best early chassis he's seen.

When the car went back to APM at the start of year to sort a strange noise - new power steering rack and oil pressure relief valve and spring - he said the engine was absolutely as sweet as a nut. Got plenty of history and no expense spared at Leven.

So what's my price point? I though £8.5K might do it?

Pretty pics of it being detailed last year http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/gassing/topic.asp?h=0...

I would say £10k is a cheap price for a Cerby with a very good chassis, very clean exterior, plus clutch, bottom end and suspension work. All depends how quickly you want to sell I suppose.

As described, and if the interior is in as good condition as the rest of it, I'd pay £10k if I didn't already have one.

Have a word with the guys at Fernhurts in Sussex, if its a good clean original early Cerb they told me they are hard to come by and they have customers on the lookout for such beasts. Its definitely worth more that 8.5k!

Same year and colour as mine, in my 2 years of ownership I have had a full engine rebuild, new gearbox, new clutch, new master cylinder, new slave cylinder, new discs and pads all round. Sitting on 45,000 miles and if I were to sell (which I never will) it would be for no less than £15,000.

If you advertise yours at £8.5k you must be mad (or desperate for the money, which I could then understand the low price)

I think as Cerbera owners we are just plain mental to sell for so little.

Thats a lovely car and its got to be worth more than 10k, however i am in the same boat. I've got a sound early 4.2 Cerb and its just not moving. I eventually resorted to fleabayyuck but now have a French buyer trying to claim he thought it was a chimera and does'nt want to complete the sale (it made £9210)
It's ok everyone saying that they are under priced and i agree, but people just are not buying at the moment and those that are really don't want to spend
The other quandry is price it too low and the assumption is theres something wrong with it and too high you will get no interest i'ver really no idea tbh

Wow, that is one beautiful colour, and the condition is a credit to the owner. However, as always, its worth what someone will pay for it. Go higher, you can always come down, and you must have a figure you would NOT sell for.

Too low IMHO.

There's a body damaged one on ebay at the moment for £7.5k yours is easily worth £10k.

But as said by others the price will be dictated by how desperate you are to get rid.

Thanks for all input - all good stuff. By the sounds of it if I can swallow 8.5K it should go.

I'd expect that car to go for £11k or perhaps more given the history. £8.5k sounds too cheap.
