When letting people test drive your car, please make sure you do you torque your wheel nuts up prior to departure.
The cerbera I drove yesterday felt a bit weird when we started out, a few shimmies here&there from the rear under accel/shifting which made me feel uncomfortable driving it, certainly far from confidence inspiring. Anyway, after a few more miles of driving (some the wrong side of a big number) I was more and more convinced that something was amiss as decelleration spat me right 3", and acceleration spat me left 3".
I was sure it was getting worse.
Me: "Have you never noticed the car pull under a change of speed"
Chap: "No"
Me: "It seems pretty obvious to me, you never noticed"
Chap: "No"
Me: "Have you had the wheels off recently?"
Chap: "Er. yes actually"
<slow to 20mph, crawl to layby>
The rear nearisde was wobbling about 2" on the hub. Nice. I'm sure if the seller was driving he'd have noticed it a lot sooner, but as it was a testdrive for me you just don't know what to expect so I assumed the geo was just shot in comparison to the last I drove, which didn't try to spit me all over the road.
....anyway, after torquing them up, normal service resumed and the steering wheel seemed more attached to the car. Happy days.
So yes, I probably nearly died yesterday in a cerbera shaped ball of flames. I don't even own one yet and it's already trying to kill me............
Oh, and I'll save the blushes of the car/man involved

Well, it would be ungentlemanly for me to offer it I think. If he's man enough to put his hands up to it that's a different matter
I've been giving myself high-5's all day though for listening to my instincts to pull over when it got worse, rather than limping along/ignoring it. Could have been a very uncomfortable experience all round had we put it in a hedge!
