Oil light flickering

Got in car this morning and oil light started flickering on idle but when I applied the gas it went out any ideas? Oil level is fine topped it up to Max just in case but still light won't go out on idle, pressures gauage seems to be fine.

Sounds like a dodgy connection somewhere, if your pressures Ok then you should be fine.

Thats what I thought, but i'd read threads where the wires have been crossed and the oil light is actually the battery light ie could it be the alternator / belt?

Had a fiddle with the alternator fuse yesterday and the light hasn't come on since. Cerb's for you I guess.

Anyway that turned out to be least of my worries last night car caught the back end of car as it was turning right and didn't stop the b??**rd just sped off, didn't get number plate as it was in rear view mirror and dark. Phoned police and they told me I've got 24 hours to report it, no interest in actually catching who did it. So i've got a nice excess to pay on insurance.
