Took the cerb to Le mans what a trip! The only problem i had was a broken headlight lens after a scrap with a 911, need i say who won?
Question - does anyone have an idea how to remove the original light cover?

Remove the hatch within front wheel arch. Stick your arm in and undo the wing nuts x 3 to release the headlight cowling. Be careful not to drop anything in the wheel arch aperture. Remove cowling. Remove headlamp and replace. Its pretty easy.

i removed my lense without removing the surroud.

stanley knife between lense and body to cut the sealer, pinch and peel as much of the sealer away as possible.

get in behind the headlamp and unwind the butterfly nuts for adjusting the headlamp. once its slack you will be able to get your fingers onto the behind of the lense, its then a case of thumping it in and pushing it out until you pop the bugger loose. once loose, tip the lense horizontal and at a 45 degree angle and it will slide throught the bucket.

i have a spare lense if you want one? no cracks etc removed from my car as im having the tuscan style conversion

Not sure whether this will be helpful, but I scratched my arm to bits doing this job (from inside the wheel arch), you might like to wear long sleeves for the wingnut undoing bit!

(But on the other hand, it's quite macho to have some wounds I suppose! Which is why I wasn't so keen!).
