After greasing the prop shaft uni joints via the grease nipples ( they took a lot of grease) I am looking for any more that may have been missed at a service, the thought of a dry joint makes me wince. Are there any nipples anywhere on the steering rack? I see there are a couple of small uni joints near the bulk head but I cant see any grease nips?

Grease nipples, steering rack...nope!

You may want to remove the gaiters and grease the ball joints but nothing else comes to mind on the sterring rack.

with these grease nipples, what sort of tool do i need to pump the grease in?

never used grease nipples before, or come across them on my other vehicles.

I used a standard grease gun, the nozzle just pushes over the nipple, pump away on the handle and fill it with grease.

Hi Guys

As a mechanical Engineer could I just warn you about OVER GREASING bearings.
Splines are OK!

Putting too much grease into a sealed bearing to FILL the bearing will cause it to "Hydralic" where there is no room to allow the grease to expand and move around as it rotates.
This generates heat and pressure that can blow the grease out of the seals.
It can then damage the seals as it escapes and often over greasing a bearing actually reduces if life!

There is and old saying, if in doubt don't!
Only 1/2 fill any bearing cavity with grease.

Hope this helps??
