Heater controls/control boxes
Discussion
Morning all
Struggling with the heater circuit on the Cerb, in that it is permanently on. I had understood that there was a control box on the passenger side of the car for that, but I'm struggling to find anything that I can get to!
I found the MBE in the footwell, and with it the wiper box. Checked in the engine bay under the battery cover, and nothing!
I'm clearly clueless, so any help gratefully received - preferably with pics...

Hi,
Its definatly in the passenger footwell, normally the heater unit is near the floor with MBE ECU and wiper unit placed up higher out of sight behind cowling.
Maybe yours have been swapped around at some time as it is tight to get the end footwell board back in place with the bulky heater and ecu jammed at the back.

Hi
First thing to do is put your hand at the back of the panel and find out if the ribbon that is connected to the back of the panel is fully on iit has got a flat plug with loads of holes, it might have come off (mine did) and that might cuase the heater to be on constantly, you can also trace the ribbon back to the heater control box that way.

Aha! Excellent, if it's a flat cable then I recall seeing it "near" the ECU box, so I shall follow it there, as well as under the dash - good tip, thanks a lot!First thing to do is put your hand at the back of the panel and find out if the ribbon that is connected to the back of the panel is fully on iit has got a flat plug with loads of holes, it might have come off (mine did) and that might cuase the heater to be on constantly, you can also trace the ribbon back to the heater control box that way.
