The 100 amp fuse
Discussion
Popped over to Dan Taylors yesterday for a 125 amp fuse as reading other peoples posts thought it would be good to keep a spare.
Dan been the amiable man he his said he would show me where to find it.
As we dug down into the depths and burnt our hands we discovered that the wires had been connected across 1 terminal. I know people use this as a temporary fix to get them home but the consequences of leaving like this make me shudder.
So if you've never checked please do now.

Some specialists say this is the way to wire them and to avoid using a fuse.
I still have a fuse but am undecided!!
Cheers

My understanding it is the main fuse and if the alternator over charges then you have no protection including the possibility of fire.I still have a fuse but am undecided!!

As for removing it all together, it seems debatable if it is needed, and removing it takes out a main point of problems/gremlins that affect our cars.
Down to individuals choice.
Wonder if the insurance Co's would latch on to this if there was a problem, have any actually been known to have had a problem caused by this circuit overloading?
