Hi chaps, my driver's door has (unsurprisingly, due to it's size) dropped a couple of mm where it hits the striker plate to close. This means a hard push to shut it risking damage.

From what I can see, there is no adjustment on the lock which is held in place with three allen bolts or the ring on the door that catches in the lock. I don't really want to mess about at the hinges, because it it literally only 'just' out and I'm not convinced I would be able to adjust finely enough at the hinges.

Any ideas?

Check the striker plate is tight although i expect you already have.

The catch has some adjustment, if not you can elongate the 2 holes but this wont cure the fact the door has dropped..

Might go down the adjustment route if I can, the lock has been out to fit a new solenoid and is worse now than it was before. Might have to use my Irish screwdriver smash

The hinge side is really easy to get to though, just peel the carpet back.

I've not looked yet, but is it the same on the passenger side too ? Our passenger doot has always been slightly out, but I've never bothered adjusting it, as it seemed too much of a headache ! headache

Ta, Brummie, will have a gander tomorrow if it stops raining. Already soaked from fitting a door solenoid - not the of a job I thought it would be.
