Yes I know its going to be flipping loud, reason I ask is I have just renewed fuel lines on and early 4.2 and I want to run the engine for a short while to ckeck for leaks on my new pipe work without having to remove cats and exhaust if there is a problem.

Am I likely to have a 10 foot flame shoot down the transmission tunnel when I blip the throttle on start-up?

Anyone tried it?

I suggest that rather than running the engine you just power up the fuel pump. That's sufficient to show any leaks without any risk of your car doing a dog impression.
