Hi all, so I decided to do the long-overdue fitting of the amp and bass speaker.

However while running the engine (to keep voltage up) she overheated and blew coolant all over the place from a hose whose clip had rusted away.

Upon letting it cool down, then re-starting, the fans are not running.

Checked all fuses. Is there a control box for the fans? Is it the little one near the fusebox? Maybe I disturbed something while I was fooling about with cables in and around the fusebox.

Any other ideas please? Even if I could temporarily manually run the fans; But where are the feeds to them?

Thanks

Andy.

More specific question - which/where are the fan relays?

almost 100% you have air in the system gauge will show overheating but fansnot cutting in. you need to blead the system.

I think you're right. Repeated running, cooling, filling, and removal of top rad hose (lots of air came out) and she is not running fine. Thanks!

Oh, and the sound system sounds much better!

Andy.

had same thing with a speed six, bleed the water system (took a couple of go's), problem solved.
check top & bottom hoses too radiator, if cold and rest of car getting hot then you've got an air lock.

Andy, when you are bleeding the air out it helps if you put a piece of pipe off the vents and bleed it as you would the brakes.

I was having a pig of a time trying to get all the air out of mine and a mate suggested I try that and it worked.

It seems to stop any air being able to get back in through the vents.

the vents are the wing nuts on top front corners of the water rails either side of the engine. undo them slightly and water and hopefully the air comes up through the hole in the middle
