As mentioned on other threads I am undecided as to what to do with my headlamps. I want to keep the 'retro' shape of the originals but want to update them slightly while at the same time improve the light output.

So far I have thought about fitting VW Lupo lights which a few people have done on their Chimera's and they look very good. However I would really like to incorporate a design with a projector lamp in it. I did look into the projector units fitted to the GTI Lupo but they are very difficult to get hold of and very expensive new.

A few other ideas I have subject to them fitting are....

New style VW Beetle headlmaps

Lights for a Eunos roadster

Lights from a new style Mini (think these might be too big)

The other thing I did think of doing was fitting the normal Lupo headlights, relocating the indicators and fitting some of these in their place...

Thoughts or comments??

Lupo GTI lights are different to standard Lupo ones - they're xenons with integrated indicators. Just make sure you get the ballasts with them.

Edit because I didn't read the original post properly. banghead

LTI TX4 lights look like they'd be a good fit

Mike, what do you mean by 'GT' lights? Were they on a race car?

I have a pair of lights from a Jeep Grand Cherokee which will go in when the front is resprayed, they seem to have less rake in the lenses than Lupo lights. Cost me £50 each off ebay.

Yes, my pictures are at home though! They were on the 1996 GT2 Cerbera, the Deloutte and toushe (sp) car.

I think I'd go for the Projector MX5 lights.

I like the old style round lights and those will update them a little and still provide better light.

I'd be VERY careful putting MINI and Lupo lights on your car as you could very well ruin the lines at the front. imho

Ridds, having just looked at a mini outside I think they will be too big so they are ruled out. The Lupo lights keep the original lines. Here is the original thread with pictures of them in chims.

Yup. Bloody lovely though, and amazing how low the body sits on that car. Love it. cloud9

I'd love to see a bonnet with the nascar ducts in it like that too...

..I guess it would improve radiator airflow as well.
