What do you reckon my car is worth?
Discussion
Not selling, but just pub chat the other night, and how much we reckon the Mazda's (tinkers camp), and the other various things Bee Em's and such were worth, I thought mine was worth 20K at worst and 25k at best, or am i dreaming, Bare in mind mine monster brakes, bespoke Nitrons, and £10k engine and box, not just a salvage yard spesh engine. Plus rebuilt diff with big crown wheel and pinion, raceproved drive shafts, and all the diff mounts beefed and re fabbed.

Afraid the had truth will always be 'significantly less than what you've invested and we're not even counting your time' (BTDT albeit at a slightly different level). That's not saying conversions like yours don't make financial sense if you consider the sort of depreciation typical for a car that would keep up with it and offers thrills at a similar levels with the same sort of practicality/WAF

I know what i've spent/time invested dont mean sh!t. If you commissioned someone to build it you would be 40-50K i'm sure, just expanding the conversation beyond the pub!

Hmmm.
I'd probably pay 25k as well. I've already got one mind you, it seems to work, runs really well, smooth, no flat spots, 400+ bhp and the chassis seems in good nick (all of this the last time I checked, obviously it could all fall to bits the next time I use it
)
Still yours seems tempting..... looks like its all been put together properly which has to be worth something.

Trouble is chap, you've reduced the available market by putting a different engine in it, which is the same problem for any major custom work.
Now to those in the market for such a beast your car will obviously be worth a premium over a std cerb and there are those who prefer their cerbs as they left the factory....
Personally I'd be in the former camp as I'd like to have seen this as a factory option across the range,,which I think may have even saved the factory

Quite the opposite I'd think
What about all those people that like the idea of owning a Cerb but get put off by the horror stories and go and buy Corvettes or Porsches. Most Vette owners are ex TVR owners anyway. I'd advertise it under Porsche and Vette.I agree the purists would pay less but I tend to think there'd be alot more people interested outside of the hood

Rich.
I would chance my arm and advertise for 29k.
Personally I would pay less for your car than I would a well restored original car. But it's about what people who don't like tvr engines will pay. So I would pay way less than you would want. Nothing against the engines and conversion. Also I would say it has too much power for most drivers (incl me). But I am sure there are a few people out there that would give you over 25k.
Personally I would like to see the threads on ls cars moved to the major mods threads section.
I can't recall what the ls engined chim went for. Jellison got a premium for the car, maybe his sellin price would help judge what it's worth?
So for me it is worth about 18k tops.

I believe Jelly got £18k, that was a bog stock LS2 motor. Like i say it aint for sale, Driving it this weekend in the sunshine after doing 11.1 qtr's, just playing with the monstrous torque on the Mway, i really couldnt think of anything else that could fill its shoes.
Gazzab, i assume you would let me back into the Cerbera threads when i can add value by helping you guys fix em??

Not even any three digit thoughts, dark forbidden thoughts that are generally best not admitted openly, such as :-
