Picked up my 4.2 last night from Manchester and drove it back to Kent.....260 miles and it didnt miss a beat so very impressed.

Only issue i've got with it is a bit of play in the steering so under breaking i get a little bit of vibration. Is this normal or could it be track rod ends or poly bushes??? I'm no mechanic so if any one would like to advise that'd be great.

In a nut shell.....i flippin love it!!!

Front drag link bushes. £50 and an hour of your time to do.

Try them before spending out on new discs or skimming. wink

How much for a garage to do the bushes? Any ideas?

If you've even a modicum of mechanical savvy you can do these, I would also suggest that everyone tries to have a degree of practical 'hands on' experience. It will help the whole experience.

These cars are getting on a bit now and bits are wearing out after 10 years use.

Good to see a new, enthusiastic owner, local too - I'm in a village outside Ashford, where are you?

Check the car over now you have it - check brakes, fluid levels and most importantly fuel lines, several people have reported original hoses have now got to the point that they're failing in an alarming way. Can be fixed for £15 and an hour or so of your time and may save your car going up in a ball of flames. yes

I'd say front bushes as well.

Can someone please post a quick step by step guide on replacing the fuel lines, and what parts I need to order.
