Hi guys.
Does anybody know where I can buy two new bent hanger bracket bars with saddles on the part which goes through the rubber hanger?(is that what they are called?)confused

I have looked on all the usual sights but all I can find are the standard ones for the Tuscan. I need to adjust the height of the rear silencers as they are taking a hell of a bashing.

Thanks

Have you tried adjusting the bracket, (I presume not as they look rusty) it may be possible to move the exhaust up a few mm.

Are you talking about the part on the chassis or the part on the exhaust side?
If its the exhaust side you can buy these from normal motor shops. they have a clamp to clamp to the exhaust and a bar the same as in your pic.

Hi guys
I have tried adjusting but ideally the part they have welded to the exhaust should be the other side as it does touch the rear of the chassis on times.
What I need is the bent bar with a saddle on one end which sits in the rubber hanger and threaded the other for adjustment.
I just cannot find them any where. irked

Sorry, am I missing something?

Cut the old one off and reweld it the other side, looks servicable with a bit of wirebrusing, I somehow doubt you'll actually be able to buy just that bit.

Hi Nige

Further height adjustment can be obtained by threading an appropriate size jubilee clip around the rubber hanger. By tightening this clip you can raise or lower the exhaust by 20mm or more. I my experience it also makes the rubbers last much longer as mine were braking quite alot, also they allow you to align both exhausts so they are level with each other, another pet hate of mine with Cerbs.

I did this on mine, you will need access to a sturdy bench vice and ablow lamp, simply buy a very long bolt of the correct diameter to fit niceley in the tube welded onto the exhaust pipe, heat the bolt in the spot where you intend to bend and put a 90 degree bend in it when cherry red and there you go, you can also but threadded bar (studding) from good hardware or DIY stores.

With very slight modification you should be able to use the centre of something like this .....

..... but as was said already your own one looks like it'll be fine if you just clean it with a wire brush and spray it with some WD-40.

Get some heavy duty 10mm Tie wraps, put them round the support rubber's and tighten them up to bring the silencers up a bit.

I must admit I didn't understand your comment. In the picture shown earlier there's scope to raise the exhaust on the existing bracket. Are you saying there isn't clearance to move it on yours? If so what is fouling? I don't understand what problem you're trying to solve by replacing the hanger. As far as I can tell, the only problem you have is the existing hanger fouling the chassis, which could be solved by welding a tube on the opposite side of the exhaust and moving the existing hanger across.

Have you tried Halfords? they are a universal part. They clamp to the exhaust in the same way as the joining clamps but have the adjuster bar and foot attached. I have them like that on mine and have seen them in there.

If you are grounding the car sufficiently to do the damage in the picture I would say your car is riding too low. Have you checked the clearance between the chassis and ground?

Nige

Give Tim a call at ACT.

My system from him came with the brackets you are after.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Hi Greenv8s sorry mate let me explain. I took a photo of this bracket as it is the better of the two. Last week the other one took such a smack that the bolt bent hit the rear silencer and moved the rear silencer pipe back about 25mm and caused the pipe to start blowing between the middle and rear section. We have done a temporary fix but need another fitting so that we can alter both to a more suitable position. Don’t want to fiddle until I have the bits I need.

Thanks Again
