just a quickie really. if youre footwell carpets have seen better days (or in my case very better days) because a careless previous owner didnt take care of the car, how easy are they to replace?

Yes! I had mine made for me by a company I found on eBay - went for the luxury fabric upgrade in black (as my carpets are black) and they fit perfectly.

It's a bit confusing but you have to buy the Cerbera mats here

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&am...

and then the Luxury carpet upgrade here (if you want - might as well spoil yourself, it is a Cerbera after all!)

and then the nice leather trim upgrade here (you may want to pick a different colour from my black)

That is confusing. That appears to be just the mats not the interior carpet? Interior custom fit carpet is circa £300?

Find a carpet you like from a carpet warehouse type place. Enough to recarpet mine in a decent PLAIN wilton cost about £75 (though it was a special end of roll offer)
Remove seats and lift the center console.
Use the old carpet as templates to cut the new pieces.
Either bind the carpet pieces yourself or find a trim shop to do it for you
Replace carpets, console and seats.

Took me about 3 weekends all together.

ETA the obvious...

Great idea - maybe get that Indian curry house carpet look?

I have just ordered a new set of carpets and mats from D&C trim. Dave's number is 07738130236. They are ex factory trimmers working in the old factory. Having looked at some of their work it looks top notch.

A full set of carpets and mats is about £360 if you don't want them fitted.

I have also sent them a load of other interior bits of mine to be retrimmed in alcantara, or what they call lamonta. They are kindly sending me a load of extra lamonta so I can do my roof and door cards.

Interesting. So its just a case of using the old carpet as a template for the new one? What's involved in terms of what needs removing from within the car I.e. Seats, rear bench? Also what type of carpet is recommended? I have sh*tty beige oned which I want to change for black ones

You need to remove the front seats and at least lift the centre console. You can try poking the carpet up the sides but you will find it is always slipping down and looking a mess (the previous owner had tried that in mine). You probably don't have to take the console right out but it helps.

The carpet just tucks under the lower front edge of the rear seats so you can probably get away without removing them.

You also need to ease up the door seals and remove the scuttle panels in the footwells.

The carpet is bound in places so it isn't simply a case of cutting the new one - it needs the edges binding properly. I did my own on an industrial sewing machine - but if you don't have facilities to do that you can probably get a trim shop to bind it for you.

Pics of my interior refurb are at http://www.tvr-cerbera.co.uk/refurb_index.html
