Hi
Just to say, as you guys have recommended, I have just today completed the poly bush upgrade on my front suspension.
WOW what a difference!
All that woolly feeling has gone from the steering and is pin sharp now.
Even hard braking feels so much more precise.
Will do the rear end over the winter or when my back, legs, neck and hands recover.
Oh for a nice 4 post lift on my drive!

All together, including a lot of scraping and painting of the wishbones, about 2 1/2 days.
Could have been quicker, but I split it over a few days, started Sunday afternoon last week, a bit of this Saturday afternoon, yesterday and today.
Getting all my tools in out etc.. wasted a lot of time and I only seemed to get going at midday for that last couple of days.
I also changed the front anti-roll bar bushes at the same time.
Getting the old bushes out was not as difficult as I expected, with stories of burning and cutting the sleeve.
I have an old 6" vice, and with some large/long sockets I managed to push all the bushes out.
The secret is to apply the force and then heat the outer with an ordinary blow lamp for about 30 seconds and they then move easily.
A nice 10 ton press would make life much easier though!

The real fun starts when you decide (need
) to replace the diff mounting ones.

Think mine were done a while back, seem to rember something in the all the paperwork I have. ( me hopes!)
) to replace the diff mounting ones.
But yes the thought of going under there with a blow lamp has me sweating!
So perhaps that ebay £9.99 ford tool may be in order if they need doing!

Glad it has made a difference Steve! Have you sorted the issue of the wheels not quite pointing in the same direction?
By eye they look much better Mark, and that was just putting in the new buhes and not moving any settings!Might make a wheel alignment tool and do it with a bit more precision myself!!

But I must get the wheels balanced again, been told about a chap near Capel, so might call him next week to see if he can also do the alignment for me as well.
