Anyone ever thought about it?
(And if anyone can't figure it out from my cryptic pictures, I mean using a XKR-esque mesh grille on a Cerb).

I think it looks perfect as it is, and gets a nice flow of air in to the engine with that design. Just my opinion of course. Good luck with it.

It looks right on a XKR. But not a Cerbera.

I've see a couple of pics where the centre spar , where the No. plate bolts, was taken out. I'm sure one of them had mesh fitted.

Although it's not my thing, I think it could work if you set the grill deep in to the recess, perhaps behind the cross-bar.

That would make it very subtle, and not too chavtastic...

Found this

Doesn't look right to me, but at the end of the day its personal opinion.

Agreed it doesn't look right, that's why my observation that a deeply embedded grill might work...

Ahh, wasn't actually looking to do it myself, but I saw a Jag (can't actually remember if it was an XKR) with a mesh grill and thought it looked very nice, from that point I kept thinking what it would look like on the Cerb, curiosity more than anything.

Having looked at that AutoTrader link (thanks for that by the way), I you're right in saying that you'd probably have to keep the cross piece, and possibly have a stick on number plate on the bonnet.

There arent many body mods you can do to the stock cerbera body which will look part & parcel of the curvy flowing lines... I've photoshopped thousands in the past, and everytime it comes out wierd... the major limiting factor is the roofline.... the cerbera's roofline is very very unique and makes it very hard to do anything seriously adventerous to the overall look... you could always widen the bodyshell by two feet and shove 13 inch wide tubs and 355 tyres on and then give it a huge arse mouth and a huge arse foreal too... hmmm... sounds familiar biggrin

Car styling is very subjective... wink

I agree with Morebeans, the grill should be mounted quite deep, but also be finished in a satin black powder coat, trust me it would look very fuinctional in a racer kind of way.

When I replaced my rad I dropped a mesh in the very front of the bay and then put the rad back in and as it's deep recessed you can hardly see it unless you get up close. Helps protect the rad and not too chavtastic. See if I can find a photo...

Well I guess it would stop the odd cat, bird, rabbit or plastic bag ending up jambed against the air cleaner. Opened up a Chim airbox with someone who had a problem and had to remove a fair bit of the car to get at the part and found a lovely white plastic bag in his airbox?? Could have been very nasty if it had gone a little further!!!

A couple of years ago the Cerb bagged a pheasant - swallowed it whole so to speak, and then burst against the radiator. It was an absolute pain to fish all of the bits out and clean up, and a suitable grill may have stopped it going through the mouth!
