loose red wire top of Cerb 4.5 engine
Discussion
Merry Crimbo all,
can anyone help, and i apologise for the lack of correct termonology and lack of photo - no Dig camera!
I have a 98 Cerbera 4.5. Facing the car, on the above right side of the engine (just above left of the TPOT ODD wire connection), i've just noticed a loose red wire, looping around with the black AC clutch wire and black plastic connector, one end of which connects with the AC clutch wire. It looks as if this red wire should be (or was) connected to the other end of the black plastic connector, but it isn’t.
Any idea what this wire is, and should I simply connect it to the obvious place? Its been like this since I bought the car, and there have been no problems.

Hmm, I see what you mean.
Mine's a 97 4.2, and has the same floppy red wire with a black plastic connector about half way through. Got to tieclip it to something (fuel rail?), as at the mo, it can touch top of cam cover, which gets warm on occasion
, and it might conceivably flop onto the air con belt. Not clever.
Oh, compliments of the season...
