I can't help smiling...!
For the past few weeks, I've developed an increasing urge to part with my Cerb, partly due to itching for a new experience, partly because of the 'little projects' which the car seems to frequently rquire. Being a mechanical numpty (yeah I know that's the first rule of Cerb Club!), rear diff bushes, clutch, slave, shocks etc have required the show box to be raided more often than I wished.
Thoughts of stepping into a Vantage (big outlay, big running costs) or a Tuscan 2S (more of the same) have been growing and drives in each have not helped reduce the itch.
I put the Cerb in for its 12k service last weekend, the gents at The TVR Centre, Barnet once again proving what absolute top blokes they are. Can't recommend them highly enough.
So I'm now back behind the wheel and cannot for the life of me understand why oh why oh why I would want to part with this piece of automotive jewellry.
Driving to Poole today with my son in the back, the boot packed with our luggage and windows down, the car is running perfectly. In fact, I don't recall it running better. Driving through the M25 and M3 speed restrictions didn't matter a jot and both my son (10 and already a car nut) and I loving every second of the trip.
Admiring glances and comments plus the usual gaggle of kids running up and asking the classic questions and then smiling has made me wonder what in hell I have been thinking about these past few weeks.
I guess what I have finally accepted is......I love my Cerb....!!!!!
