It's that time of year again folks, if you're even remotely close to Brighton, come along - we're coming from the Midlands ffs! No excuses...

Sooo whats in store I hear you say? Well, aside from being one of the greatest motorsport events in history, we have a couple of rather interesting entrants on the entry list - with alot of PH'ers featured. Better still, this year features the re-run of the battle of ballast - yup, TC has finally risen to the challenge of the mighty FUBAR. heheevil There is also a pesky Sagaris that is quite likely to upset us all, and of couse Dad will be competing in his now 85k (no rebuilds) battle scarred missile.

The entry list is here; http://www.brightonandhovemotorclub.co.uk/speedtri...

Worth noting from a quick glance are; Cerberas x3 - Sagaris - Nissan GTR - Ferrari F40/F430/599GTB/308 - Tuscan RACER - Corvette Z06 - Dodge Viper GTS x2 (though unfortunately not original, BOTH are supercharged evil) - Mercedes CLK 63 (I suspect Black) - Porsche Carrera (5700cc, I believe that'll be a Carrera GT!) - Aston Martin AMV8 - Lamborghini LP640 - Lotus Evora - Porsche 996 Turbo... serious, SERIOUS cars. Infact, that reads pretty closely to my all-time wish list.

So, whos coming? and if not - I want a pretty bloody good excuse. hehe

Once again, our target is quickest production TVR/ to beat the F40, Z06 and possibly upset the CGT? - I hear they're quite difficult to launch. We shall see... but yeah, whatever happens - it's an unbelievably good event, amazing atmosphere and will be great to see you all. I am sure FUBAR/TC will agree - and infact, I reckon they'll both give us a fright! Superb showing from the TVR lot, come and support us - they'll do you proud!

Who did you guys get to Propose and second your application to the B&HMC?

I'm aiming to get my National B this year for entry next year.

I sent mine to Fubes who I guess went down as No.1 (he had joined last year so was a current member already) he then sorted it with someone else there to be my No.2 (I think that would have been Caruso off here http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem... who is involved in the club albeit I have yet to meet hehe)

However, we have enough now to go on your form for you so you'll have no worries there thumbup

This would be great, but even their own website doesn't appear (at first glance anyway) to have the date!

Sept 12th.

For parking, I recommend the paddock - however more realistically - ask in the general TVR section, theres usually a TVRCC RO (I believe PH'er ncs?) who sorts out parking in the marina outside a casino. smile

There are several (central) NCPs within walking distance, but, as long as you are careful with the tight ramps, the multi storey in the Marina is free, and then a 10 minute walk along the seafront (well, top level) to the event, walking the length of the course in reverse.

AFAIK the Casino parking allocation is by strict invite only and sadly all allocation has been alloted (vehicles have to be registered as it is private property, so dont go parking down there unless you fancy a clamping, TVR or not)

See you there Ben smile Tell your dad to wait for me this year hehe

Oh, did I mention TC's 2 second handicap? rofl

Im afraid parking in the casino area is cancelled.

Ive just had a phone call from the people I work with re parking at the casino
& its just been pulled.

For several years now we have been the only group allowed to park in this area
& we have worked very hard to ensure it all went well. All TVR owners (club members or not) were welcome & it worked well despite a few hot heads trying to show off.

The last couple of years have been very difficult to arrange, & I (& others) have had to make certain assuances about the number of cars, public liability, general behaviour etc which has put the pressure on a bit to say the least.

This year was particularly tough, & I had to assure the site owners it was an invitaion only event but word has got out about this thread on a public forum & they've just refused permission to park, I had about 40 cars coming down & now we'll have to change our plans.

The casino car park will be closed, with a barrier down, so dont even bother trying to get in there.

I am absolutley gutted.

There will be many others who are gutted too Nick. It's a real shame as it has spoiled things for many. I was just about to ask for my name to be put down for this 'benefit' but it looks like we'll be out there with the rest of the cars in SE England, trying to find a parking space somewhere in Brighton! Even a fat brekkie might not put a good slant on it! Hope to see you anyway. J

Nick, I am really really sorry if this thread has caused any grief, I assure you it couldnt have been further from my intentions of naming you/ your previous arrangements. frown I had hoped it read in such a way as to confirm that they need to talk to you in order to confirm, apologies if this hasnt been clear. We all value the support of various TVRCC members/PH'ers and this is a sad loss to the event IMHO. frown

Its not your fault mate, its the world we live in now that means everyone is scared stless of being sued if someone stubbs their toe on a parked car.

There is a 'political' situation regarding the parking spot that I cant go into detail about & we are suffering as a result.

See you on Saturday, we'll still be there as its a great event.

Besides, we have to throw stuff at Fubar from the top levelbiggrin

Good luck to everyone taking part.

Back to topic & Fube's weight loss programme.

Interestingly I was at Shakespere Raceway yesterday and ended up speaking to a guy who tunes Volvo's. Said he was heading to Brighton next weekend with a race prep'd Volvo estate.

Hi all,

Just a quick post to say that I'll probably be heading over in the Cerb so if there's a gathering / group heading somewhere near Chichester, let me know and I'll tag on the back smile
