Hi all

I have a set of Spiders on my Cerb at the moment and I fancy a change to something lighter/more motorsport style. What options are there? I have had a search but not a huge amount comes up.

I may move down to a 17" wheel as well, main thing for me is the wheel should be as light as possible.

Any suggestions? Anyone fancy a swap? I have T1R's on them at the moment with around 5-6mm of tread.

Cheers,

Baz

I changed to SP's. They are lighter and much more robust.

Me too. Very pleased. You can get them from Silverstone Performance.

Cheers guys. Did any of you move from Spiders to SP12's?

Just thinking about the weight difference. I'm reckon maybe some anthracite or black ones would look good on mine....

I have Raceline RL7s on mine (17") with the same tyres Toyo T1s, a proper motorsport wheel, lightweight and strong, I just don't track the car so wouldn't mind a swap with yours?

Yep, went for anthracite ones. Kept the spiders as spares...

Consider also Japanese forged wheels, there are plenty in 17" (and 18" if you wish) with the requisite 114.3x5 pattern. Some are very light, the hard bit is getting something suitable for the car which looks like it should be there. The SP12s are a good choice in this respect, but the Jap' forged stuff is lighter.

Me too with the Sp's, though i have two sets, one 18's with Toyo T1R,s one set 17's with Toyo 888's.
My recommendation would be the 17's with the larger 40 side wall, talk to Mat at Sp.

Interesting you've gone to 17s Nick. Obviously the 888s are stickier, but what other differences have you noticed with going to 17s?

Interesting SP now do 17's. I prefer 17" wheels as I think the 40 profile suits the car better, but it's personal preference.

Thanks for the feedback guys, I have been looking at some Japanese wheels, just tough finding something that suits....

I really like the SP12's, didn't realise they did them in a 17", I guess they would be lighter still!

Have you got a picture of the 17" RL's mate? Not sure I have seen them on the car before.

Thanks,

Baz

Baz,

Ideas for lightwheels here http://www.wheelweights.net/wheel-weight-size.pdf - some seriously light stuff on there and also a huge variation in weights ...
