i finally fixed my alternantor or should i say big fuse. after pulling the altrernator off and making sure it was earhted properly and having it tested it turned out to be a blown 100 amp midi fuse.

so all is charging now BUT.................

when driving around on light throttle its fine.

when highly revving its fine, but when poodling along in say 3rd at 30/40 or or 4th at 40 or 5th at 50 where the revs are around 2-2.5k and the gear is wrong for acceleration, if i plant my foot down it spluters like its missing/not sparking/overfueling or something.

however if i lighly feed the throttle in no misfire is detected.

i havent put the laptop on it yet but is there anything it could be apart from the obvious like leads and plugs.( getting plugs today or tomorrow and getting leads put on when it goes to Jules)

I had exactly the same problem. Finally traced the problem to a "New" faulty coil pack.

If you have been fiddling down near the 100A fuse you could have easily knocked an HT lead loose on a coil pack.

Definitely sounds like coil to me - same symptoms I had back in January.

I'd look at lambdas and whether there's a significant difference between the throttle pot readings.

i pugged it into the lap top this morning.

faults were AFR 2469 and AFR 1357 BAD.

adaptive 1 was -7.4 to - 9.8
adaptive 2 was +21 to +29.3 fluctuating.

lambda 1 +0.20 to +0.70
Lambda 2 +0.06 to +0.98 occasionally flicking to 1.00

Tpots at idle are
tpot 1 16.9 to 17.3
tpot 2 15.9 to 17.3

i cleared the codes and left it idle for a bit and revved it now and again and checked for faults and it only said AFR 2468 BAD.

Any ideas?

i tried to get the highest adaptive reading lower but messing with the idle screw etc on the even bank but it was making it rev high etc. so i set that bank back as close to 16% as poss

what can i do. the misifre is still there. i dont want to waist money on coil packs if it could be something else.

i have loved driving it today in the sun, im just gutted i cant put my foot all the way down.

How old are the coil packs?

Try swapping the lambdas over and seeing if the problem moves.

its a nightmare to remove the lambdas tho. manifold has to come off to access them with a spanner.

i dont know how old the coil packs are they came on the car when i bought june last year.

It's not that much of a nightmare, if if you bend a spanner 90 degrees and do it from underneath.

Shayne,

you definitely don't need the manifolds off. It's not too bad from underneath.

Just thinking about your problem, have you checked your ecu connector
people have experienced problems like this when water has got into the multi plug.
Check the plug is at the bottom of the ecu and that there is no moisture in the plug.
