What are peoples experience of having this done? Does it reduce under bonnet temps much? Does it tend to break off after a while?
I have found a couple of small cracks in my manifold so if they are coming off for repair I quite fancy getting it done at the same time. Raceproved are currently offering this service.

A mate of mine had his Zirtec coated on his 4.5,it reduced the underbonnet temperature but its expensive to have done.

I'm looking at having this done as I can see a crack in one of the manifolds so whilst its out I might as well try to get the heat down, I have got a quote of circa £350 (25% reduction in heat) or circa £590 (33% reduction in heat).

Is that for the pair? When I enquired a couple of years back it came out at over £700 for the pair, once you'd added vat and delivery etc.

Which I thought was a little silly. laugh

Had my Chimaera ones done 3 years ago, has stayed on no problem, no flaking, a bit of colour change, most importantly a lot less heat

Yeah if you would, a group buy could make it a bit more affordable.

How much of an arse is it to remove the manifolds? The driverside one looks to be more of a squeeze, do you have to undo an engine mount and push engine across to get space?

Read somewhere on here that you you may need to loosen the engine mountings for the drivers side, passenger side looks like can be done in situ.

Having just done this I can say that you can just about squeeze the passenger side out with the engine in place, but for the drivers side you definitely have to undo both front engine mounts, jack the engine up and over carefully.

Headers on the Tuscan are ceramic coated (although on a Chevy motor). Certainly helps with the temp at the headers but remember the temp has to go somewhere, so the rest of the system will get hotter.

There prices look reasonable, did you get both the inside and outside coated? Dont like idea of potentially getting bits of ceramic getting into the cylinder head.

Bloody hell. I was quoted nearly £900 last week to do a pair for a Griff. Not direct from Zircotec, but an authorised dealer

I had the manifolds and cats done using Zirtec on my S6 at STR8SIX for GBP 580.

A noticeable improvement in the heat given off, especially in heavy traffic.
