Hi all

The right hand side of my bonnet tries to lift itself off at speed or when its s windy day. I had a look and it seems the grommit that locks into the bonnet locking mechanism has perished on the drivers side, where is the best bet to get a replacement?

Cheers!

Baz

It might be worth replacing the nylon pins on the ends of the rods while you are at it...

Also check the spoiler is still underneath the nose as this reduces bonnet lift alot.

It's a strip of metal or plastic that faces forwards, have a look, I suspect you'll see the holes where it should go.

I had one fitted not long back, one day later and i'd ripped it off....simply too low.

Yea that was me on that one that sparked off which way round they should be fitted and all I can say is faceing forward really did work extremly well but have since removed it as it did just catch on everything and bent it too many times. Was thinking of reffiting with a much smaller lip but still have that feeling I will catch it and bend it backwards and then its a sod. So for now will leave it off untill such times as I need to maybe go a little bit faster then normal??

I had mine the same way as the one in nefarious pic and it makes it harder to catch on things like kerbs when parking nose in as its further back.

I checked a few other Cerbs at meets etc and they all had them facing backwards (well the ones that had them anyway smile )

I had 2 made up one in aluminium and one steel in case the ali one took a beating. I fitted the ali one as it was much lighter and once I knew it was there was just careful when parking. It was still in perfect condition when I sold the car 2 years later.
