Hi all,

just wondering if this happens to anyone else...

At first I just thought it was coincidence, but it happens too often.

When I rumble past parked cars, fairly regularly a car alarm will set off as I go past. Not all the cars - just maybe one in a line of parked cars. Two is the most on one street.

Is this normal? Can sound set off an alarm? Or is it the vibration?

Cheers.

Mike.

My V8S did this frequently, I thought it was a feature of TVR ownership evil

Ok thats cool then.

But probably not a good sign for a track day - I noticed they have noise level limits when I had a look today. Never done one before.

Cheers.

Mike.

LOL- take it into a multistory. Great fun. I had nearly every car on every floor going off ( I wanted to park on the top away from everyone). Ferrys are the same.

Yup, setting off car alarms, making small children cry, dogs yelp and old ladies pee themselves.

I love my Cerb evil

I guess that this means you like 3 point turns to get in every ramp? wink

No, isn't that what your right foots for? Mind you we have some decent multistories, this was 6 floors up ontop of the bus station carpark:

Ditto smile

This caught my eye as I had 4 cars in Waitrose on Tuesday with their alarms going after starting her up in their multi-storey... I was rather embarrassed for a ... nah... who am I trying to kid... biggrin

4's gotta be some kind of record (for a stationary start)? Oh, and 2 were 4x4s. Double points?

I was told telling a TVR owner he/she could pass a db track test was a insult. Normal 105 db at 3/4 rpm I have a db tester if anyone wants a check. wink

Waited for the cerb to come back from valet parking at hotel in Brighton yesterday.

Took too long, way too long, so i started to find out where he was, valet driver running down street full of apologies but he has no idea how to start the car.

He had immobilised it BY TOUCHING THE LITTLE KEY yikes

Anyway, I started it in the underground car park and set off about 5 car alarms immediately.
Then had to do a 17 point turn to get the car out and up the ramp.

Mine did when I had the sports pipes on it.

Once I knew where the cars that set off every time were parked I'd pass by them when I had a passenger with me and I'd make sure the passengers window was down.

Once the alarm went off it generally frightened the bejaysus out of my passengers.

For some strange reason some of them don't travel with me very often any more .....
