Windscreen Wiper Fast Speed lost
Discussion
got the exact same problem! so would be interested in an answer to this one or if you manage to work it out can you let me know, was thinking it might be a power problem rather than a mechanical one. its on the list to do but have been busy with having the front painted, new carpets, M.O.T, carbon dash and replacing temp/oil gauge, its been a busy month.

Hi - well I must admit when I put the wipers on on a dry screen you can see they struggle so I certainly would agree about maybe a power thing - maybe the motors are just worn or something.
We'll see if anyone else has had/solved this problem or got any suggestions.
Cheers.
Mike.
I had a wiper switching unit burn out completely. I found this article http://homepage.ntlworld.com/martinwhistler/wiper.... which gives the wiper motor terminal connections. It enabled me to test the motor without any of the other TVR gubbins clouding the issue.
To run slow speed:
Connect pin 1 ground (batt –ve)
Connect pin 4 to +12V
Connect pin 5 to +12V to make the motor run and disconnect to stop without parking
To run fast speed:
Connect pin 1 ground (batt –ve)
Connect pin 4 to +12V
Connect pin 3 to +12V to make the motor run and disconnect to stop without parking
To park:
Connect pin 1 ground (batt –ve)
Connect pin 4 to +12V
Connect pin 5 (slow) to pin 2 (self park) to park the motor
It the motor checks out ok with the above, it may be a poor connection between pin 3 on the wiper motor and the switching unit (passenger foot well). The wiper switching unit has two relays in it, one of which will switch the fast circuit. It could be this - if not check the fast drive signal to the wiper switching unit is present.
Hope this is of some help.

just behind the header tank passenger side (top left hand corner of engine bay), you should see the motor and a wiring plug going into it, you should be able to wiggle the plug out, it didn't seem to have any securing clips and is just pushed in, theres not alot of wire to play with as it disappears into the bulkhead. if you have got a multimeter check that you have got power at the terminals, turn the windscreen wipers on to each setting, the faster the speed the more terminals with power (i think it was 3 pins with 12v supply for fast speed). i think the one for fast speed was the red/green wire which had slipped down further into the plug.
if you've got power and still doesn't work it could be the park switch, which is the bit you pull the wiring plug out of, about £12, they seem to be prone to water ingress but you'll have to remove the header tank to change that.
ps. hope you've got small hands, if not get your kids to stick there hand in there

Thanks for taking the time to explain that for me - I am pretty useless with these things and not rich enough to get someone else to sort it for me

Cheers.
