Hello all,

Have decided to take the speedo out and send it off to speedy cables for a refurb.

Question is how do I get the flamin' thing out and disconnected etc.

Don't want to pay anyone to do it and I have a nice new double garage to work in now.

Any photos would be great.

Cheers

Remove the top leather cover from above the dials with the two? butterfly nuts under the dash above your knees. this will allow you to see in, the cable simply unplugs/screws from the back of the speedo and theres a couple of wires on there too for the bulbs. The speedo itself will be held in place with two brass clips which you also unscrew and unclip. Its a doddle of a job just be careful behind there!

the butterfly nut underneath nearest the door is easy to find but the one on the other side by the heater controls is a little trickier to locate, lying on your back in the footwell is good but not very comfy laugh

when you refit the speedo and the heater controls don't work just plug the ribbon back in that you accidentally pulled out rolleyes this goes for anything else that did work but doesn't after you pulled the speedo out!!! very easy to knock things off

just a thought, if your having problems with the speedo are you sure its not the speed transducer thats at fault not the gauage itself. what wrong with the gauage?

Hello,

Tacho meter sticks every time on 10s, 100s, 1000s.

Oil light cover has fallen out.

Trip meter button is broken - won't reset the meter.

Small screw has undone itself and trapped the needle on 45mph!

Cheers

Definitely not the transducer then.
