Hello all, had the verb (4.2) for a week now and very pleased with it. It has the cats removed and makes nice pops and bangs on overrun but the wife is complaining it does not sound as 'meaty' as the chim 500 we used to have! I know the rover v8 will sound different but is there a sports exhaust for the cerb to make it sound any 'meatier'? Oh, the cerb blows the chim into the weeds performance wise!!!

Not really, there are sports exhaust out there, SP performance for example but the AJP V8 has a flat plane crank which gives it a "Jap superbike belch" rather than a low rumble like the RV8

What have you got on there at the moment? Taking the cats out add's about 8-10db.
Have you tried the rundown from 4-3k for pops and bangs?

So called 'Sports' exhausts won't make it sound any meatier, or bassier, and can actually rob power. You'll
The Standard Exhaust fitted, is probably about the best you can get performance wise, and is probably the best sounding one too, untl you start spending big money on exhaust systems like the SP one. You'll never get it to sound anything like the RV8, you've got 2 four cylinder engines bolted together now mate - just enjoy it smile

Hi Lee,

I have just bought a SP system so my old exhaust is taking up space in the garage.

I'm pretty sure it's this system, http://www.actproducts.co.uk/shop/sj10b42-full-exh... but with a straight through centre section. It was on the car when I bought it though, so can't be sure. After talking with Tim@act and describing it to him, he thought it was most likely one of his.

It would be pretty loud decatted - I was 1/2 decatted... which I only discovered on dissasembly - 1 of the cats has blown it's innards out smile

I can take pics if you want, condition is great, corrosion only really - I guess £200 delivered would be a fair number if you are interested?

Cheers,

Stu

I have a 4.2 act system. It is very, very loud... If you ever fancy doing a track day then you should think twice about the system you choose.
