Having just took a deposit on my 390SE, i will be looking to buy a cerb over winter.
The big question is which engine, any comments?
Lastly i there anyone in my local area (long eaton, notts, derby) who is willing to let me have a look at their car, as i am keen to see as many as possible before buying one.

It's the South-yorks meet next week and we have quite a few Cerbs that regulary attend, mine for one. You are more than welcome to come up. www.tvrcc-south-yorks. co.uk

get a v8 engine ! if its dont over 30/40k look for a engine rebuild. he car is made of mild steel tube so check for bad rust.
My cars done 57k and still runs well I think its more to do with how the engine has been treated than pure mileage. If well treated ie warming up properly and regular services it should last a few more miles.I do agree with getting a v8 but theres nothing wrong with the sp6 as its a little softer than the v8s.As far as v8 or sp6 I recommend try both, as it's in the ear of the driver and the overall feel. Mines a 4.2 but I test drove a sp6 and really enjoyed it, generally they are cheaper and less to service, just check the history as usual. I still think condition is most important, all cerbs are great.
