Hi All
A slightly forward approach, however after being messed around on what i thought was going to be my first Cerbera yesterday. Is anyone thinking of selling their car, i have £10K cash maximum. I am searching the classifieds each day. I would opt for the AJP over the SP6(sorry), open to any colour really.
Thanks
Mark

After reading the posts i was a little un-sure so went for the burgendy one. To be told on the way up there, it had sold that day. The search continues, but i am thinking of going to see the silver one now this week.

10k is plenty, i have bought 3 this year and not paid anymore than £7500 but then i hunt hard, haggle even harder, travel big distances and don't mind get my hands dirty.
10k should get you a 1996/1997 car with 40,000-60,000 and should be in good condition, i really like the look of this one, looks like its been well looked after and its got some very nice upgrades alittle out of your price range but you don't know until you try, does anyone know this car http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/2009...

p.s erich luv the photo of the audi and the fighter jet that is a great picture bow

I agree, 10K or just over should get a nice one at the moment, I got a good one (I hope) for about that, with a new clutch fitted etc and LOTS of bills and new parts!

Thanks Al, if you dont mind me asking, what have you done with the three cerbs you bought this year, did you do them up and sell them on?

yep sold them! i'm a bit of a serial car buyer, love cars but not a rich man worked my way up from a £300 5 series BMW, i probably spend more time and money on the cars than i should but they got to be right, got a 400SE at the mo which hasn't been on the road for 8 years which is a bit of a challenge but really missing the cerb's, i have seen a T350c that looks tempting so watch this space!!

A £10k Cerb that is due for a service can very easily turn into a £12k Cerb. If you've only got £10k max and nothing left over, be careful.

PS - Am I the only one who doesn't like the new Autotrader web site?

Smithy

I have a '96 4.2 meticulously maintained crystal topaz cerb that I wasn't planning on selling. It's worth a bit more than 10k but would be happy to discuss. FYI I'm in Belfast.

You are not alone, i found the older version more than adequate.

Good point on the service, and also check for clutch change if they are only lasting 20k miles. I would suggest not to rush this purchase (i know its hard if you have cash in hand as i`m the same) but we are coming into poor weather and you might not use the cerb that often, thus you can take your time to find the best buy for your budget.

Granted, I should have put the 'IF' in bold as i`m sure you know much more about clutch life than i do (That reads like a very sarcastic comment; but I assure you its not). If he's looking to keep the initial costs down it might be wise to look for a recent clutch change within the bills.

However, I`m sure a clutch could be destroyed with a day or two's worth of launching abuse in the wrong hands.

I`m pleased to hear a clutch is lasting circa 30k.

I thought it was my computer. Google Chrome says "waiting for ad double click" or something... whilst it's trying to load the videos/adverts. It's not just me then ?
