I need a pic of an open Cerb door showing the front part near the hinge. I suspect my door card has been modified and I would like to see what an unmolested one looks like. If anyone has a pic they can post it would be much appreciated.

I have my doors off the car at the moment - What exactly do you want a photo of?

Thanks - a picture of the inside front of the door, forward of the panel that the speaker fits into would be great, just a general shout of the inside of the hinge end. My doors have a rubber strip glued along this edge which I suspect is not original. Unfortunately it was painted around when the prvious owner had the colour changed.

hi, when i bought mine it had what sounds like the same as you. a piece of rubber glued to the door card around the edge. when it went to a local dealer to get the leaks put right last year they removed it and said it wasn't standard. they then replaced the old early model door seals with later ones. what year is your car? mines a 97 r-reg.

Not a brilliant photo........

Obvioulsy you can see that I don;t have the inner door cards fitted, but they just fit on, there are NO bits of rubber.

The only peice of Rubber is that little black square which is TVR's sophisticated Door stop mechanism to prevent the door opening too wide and hitting the front wing edge.

Excelent! Thank you very much. I think the part that has the extra seal on mine is on the door card not the main part of the door - though I am glad to know of the door stop.

Interestingly the one bit of rubber that is meant to be there (the door stop) is missing on mine. And I have a nice little star in the paint to prove it!

This does sound the same to me. Unfortunately it means my door cards need repainting frown Not a cheap exercise with the flip paint!

The Door Stop is a peice of 'Exhaust hanger grade' rubber, about 10mm thick (I gueess you adjust the thickness to suit your car) And the Door cards have no rubber strip on them.
