Hi All,

I need a new battery and was wondering if anyone can enlighten me as to what sort I need.

I don't think my current one is right as the terminals are round the wrong way. Internet searches have given me a few different sizes and I wondered if there was a definitive?

Thanks,
Matt

Optima Red Top works really well, well worth the investment.

The dimensions are the crucial bit. The standard battery is a Halfords 072, but they changed the design recently and the new 072's don't fit.

You need a battery with the correct spec that is NO bigger than 260mm long, 175mm wide, and 208mm high (including the terminals)

The correct locations for the terminals are....If the battery is in the car, and your looking at it stood next to the Passenger side front wheel. The Terminals should be on the left side of the battery, with the Negative nearest to you, the positive nearest the engine.

Give yourself a hassle-free life with the Optima. Best £125 I've spent on the Cerbera yet.

Mine are the wrong way round. Makes no difference to me, I have the trickle charger plug in the space for the +ve terminal. I just undo the allen bolt and lift the panel if I need to connect jump leads.

the car deserves it. you will never have starting problems or sluggish battery probs again with one of these babys.

For around £152 (Not incl carrieage) you can get a PC1230 Odyssey battery, this will give you 1230 cold cranking amps for the first 5 seconds of turning over. Believe me the car almost turn on to its side. And it is smaller than a Halfrauds 072, so slips in a treat.
