Anyone know if there is an off the shelf adapter plate for bolting a T56 up to an AJP bell? I appreciate there is more to it that this but the rest I can handle, casting a bell or milling and turning a 10" square lump of ally is a bit beyond my tooling capacity.

Any reason why you want the T56 and not upgrade the T5, unless you want the 6th gear I guess?

Seen a post from one person who switched to the 56 then went back as it was a bit cluncky to use.

The T5 can be upgraded to take the big numbers if required.

Don't know of any off the shelf adaptor but you could just take the std T5 bellhousing and weld a plate on the back I reckon.

I thought the T56 was quite a bit bigger and heavier too...

Apologies I should have read the post a bit more.

I'm sure you could buy a pre machined piece of ally and then it's only 6 bolt holes which if need be could be drilled by hand with a paper template from the box. tbh a small machine shop shouldn;t charge you much to do what's required.

Good boxes but they weigh about 9 stone. Two overdrive gears are nice.

Thanks All. I have a box, was just hoping that someone, somewhere would have an off the shelf adapter plate. It's for the Turbo AJP project which is getting near the point where it's ready to turn a wheel hence I'm not too worried about the weight. I want to make a final decision on the box before I spend money on a prop. Just need something that won't break the first time I drop the clutch. I have a friend with an small engineering company who has heavier tooling than me so I shall see if he wants a Saturday afternoon job making up a plate.
