Bucket Tappets

Hello,

Just browsing through my books and reading about different types of engines.

Do all AJP8s have bucket tappets, and how do they differ to other tappets.

Essentially what's the pros and cons and can they be replaced with something else.

Just musing.

From memory they are buckets with shims between valve stems and the bucket for adjustment.

Cheaper than buckets that are a predefined thickness and or hydraulic.
