Just something that is bugging me, is it just me or do others find the driving position a little odd?

Im a short arse 5'6ish, and even with the steering wheel on the fully up adjustment i find it a bit low and the seat position a little high. Do any of you esp. taller drivers find this annoying? I find my head quite high, near the top of the window sill and having to steer near my knees....

Ive also been looking at possibly a flat bottom steering wheel and a rece seat with ears which would be lower than the standard seat.

Have you tried removing the seat pad? Can't say I feel high up and I'm 5'9. Could also try reclining a bit smile

Im 6ft, and eventually found that it's a lot easier to drive with the back rest reclined to an angle that I'd consider ridiculous in a 'normal' car - but it works in the Cerb, try it, you soon get used to it.

if your car is pre 2000 removing the seat base will require a stanley knife and alot of mess laugh

i'm 5'9 and full throttle is like being on tip toes, oh and trying to see traffic lights when your stopped is always fun biggrin

I'm only 5'8" and only had my Cerb a few months so remember my first impressions of the driving position very well. Setting the seat travel as far back as I could manage for clutch control I still felt on top of the steering wheel with no where for my arms to go for a relaxed style. As said earlier I have now got the back of the seat reclined to an almost extreme angle and it is much, much better. In my case some of the longer foot pedals which are available should help even more allowing me to move the seat further aft.

I'm 6'2" and have no problems with the driving position, admittedly I tend to spend most of the time looking at the rollbar above the windscreen wink

6'4" here and I can confirm that assume a very laid back position. I find the seat a little uncomfortable without the seat squab!

Another shorty here at 5'7" - ish biggrin

I have the seat fully forward, reclined slightly and the steering wheel adjusted so that it's close to the dash, but at an angle so I can see the dials (you know it goes up/down & in/out?). On a trackday with a helmet on I have to recline the seat slightly more.

Mostly this is so I can reach full travel on the pedals. I know leven do longer pedels if required.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO! to longer pedals....it makes the split-arses think they can drive then
THEY DON'T MAKE THEM FOR CERBS...only Chims and Griff and T cars FFS wink

Have you not considered getting yer legs extended?

I am 5`6" and don't have an issue after I adjusted the pedals.

Reclined a bit, yes - Steering Wheel close and tilted slightly ...

No problems.. Although on occasion I have realised that the throttle pedal can go a lot further down than I had been pressing it !!

Trust me on this when i say that the Cerb seat is loads better than some other super cars that cost a bucket load of £££'s more ...

Make sure steering is adjusted for height and also depth

and you know the pedals can also be adjusted

I am 5ft 10 on a 96 4.2 I have no problems at all with viewing, pressing pedals or comfort. Seat is reclined enough to let mey elbow bend slightly but my shoulders are still neer teh top of the back rest.

My advice - make sure you adjust the pedals and sterrgni wheel, then the seat for reach to the pedals then the back adjustment for arm distance.

biggrin

I find the cerbera to be a fantasticly comfortable long distance car.

In the Spd6 cerbs that have the T car peddle box, can it be moved? It can in the Tuscan. There are two set of holes it bolts down too which may help those who are "vertically challenged".

I'm 6'2" and have an old race seat bolted directly to the floor. Just about ok. smile

With the standard seats had to use the 'recline' option described by others, but then you end up too far away from the steering wheel.

Can't say I have ever found this an issue - I'm 5'9" and have a fairly upright driving position.

I've had problems seeing where i'm going with my 97 cerb, i'm 6' but seem to have short legs and a long back.(built like an ape the mrs says) Have to recline the seat too far for comfort, or all i can see is the trim covering the rollbar. So i've ended up removing the said trim, sunvisor and all, gaining about 1 1/2 inches and I can actualy see where i'm going now! Now all i've got to do is get the rollbar retrimmed, closely. There always seems to be something to do! Its amazing what TVR ownership teaches you!

Any pics of the race seat?
