I have noticed recently comments on wether a Cerb should look standard or `modified.`
What is classed as modified? If we are talking headlight conversion, spider wheels, short induction kit, uprated discs etc, isn`t this a `period modification` which is acceptable in my book.If were talking `LS` engines, aftermarket wheels etc.(which i have fitted on my car by the way) then that is something different.I`m not saying that it shouldn`t be done because anything that keeps a Cerb on the road is fantastic but IMO if a Cerb is modified or not what the hell? They are one of the greatest cars ever made and we should all appreciate them whatever the `Mod`.-RANT OVER-biggrin

Hi Alan - Not a bad rant biggrin I guess it's each to their own really, but the Cerb is just such a gorgeous looking, and very potent car, in it's original form, that it just seems a shame to modify them to far. Personally I don't see the point of upgrading to the twin headlight, i'ts just trying to make the car look newer than it really is, older ones have single lights, the newer ones don't, whichever one you have, be happy with it.
Things like the induction kit, and upgraded brakes etc etc, improve the car, and don't detract from there originality and charisma. Engine transplants may make for a more reliable and faster car, but they lose that "TVR's Blackpool Rocket" mystique.
After market wheels - I have to admit some do look really good, and it's an easy job to switch back to original.
We all own an amazing car, and a fantastic peice of British motoring history, and as long as we are aware of that, we all make our own decisions.

In my view, it is better to keep the AJP. However, I believe TVR was also a sort of 'philosophy', with big engines and light weight equalling astonishing performance. I'm sure that PW wouldn't have minded someone fitting a hugely powerful LS engine to a Cerb, all in the name of making it faster. Infact, I think he'd have rather liked the idea!

It's your car, do what you like with it.
