Caliper & Brake disc question
Discussion
Are the 4.2 & 4.5 calipers the same?
I know the 4.5 has larger discs, if the calipers are the same is the caliper mounted by means of a spacer of a different hub assembly?
A little confused by this as i know the 4.2 discs arent available and will be looking at various alternatives in the future when it comes to changing the them.
Any info as to the various combinations of caliper/hub/discs on the model range would be appreciated (search facility is down at the mo).

I've just done my front brakes so I've done a bit of reading on them, upgraded to 330mm disk and carbone lorraine pads (thanks Brummie).
The caliper on the 4.5 has six bolts ( not including the pad retainer) and the 4.2 has four.
The 6 bolt caliper can take a slightly bigger disk, about 343mm dia max I think, the 4 bolt variety up to 330mm I think, well my friends Tuscan has the 4 bolt caliper and he has 322 cerb disks in and there is still a bit of clearance bewteen caliper and disk.

Super thats all i needed to know. So they are different calipers?! The pads they take i assume are the same? The caliper on the 4.5 has six bolts ( not including the pad retainer) and the 4.2 has four.

Any recommendation as to suppliers for discs that will fit the 4.2 four bolt caliper?

Yep different caliper.
Not sure about pads but probably different, as for disc suppliers try the usual Clever Trever and RG etc. As I kept to separate disk/bell set-up these places dont supply them anymore, just the later one piece replacements so I got mine from BG Developments.
high52kojak, I've just started looking at options for front disk replacement for my 4.5 Cerb. What part did you ask for at BG Developments, or did you have something custom made? I assume the only other choice is the 1 piece 322 disk. Not sure about pads but probably different, as for disc suppliers try the usual Clever Trever and RG etc. As I kept to separate disk/bell set-up these places dont supply them anymore, just the later one piece replacements so I got mine from BG Developments.
Isn't there two sizes for 4.2 disks? 291mm and 304mm
Racing Green have 291mm at £195
